Autumn

Autumn

One gigantic roar from a frightened deer in the autumn air.
Cold crisp leaves on the wet damp dirt,
Harden up, you'll be right, Slip, slop, watery mud.
Jelly mountains and fuzzy rugged waves
this is just the wet West Coast.
Cold, crisp winds make my lips crack.
Misty fog as vast as the ocean floor.
Lush podocarps, bush and clear blue streams.
One dead stoat stopped and staring right into you soul.
